Jewel-colored doughnut balloons

My husband and I were just talking about the purpose of balloons the other day. We concluded that while certainly festive and often nice to look at, they're really quite useless. They'll never be out of work (our culture is quite celebratory, isn't it?), and we'll continue to buy them for birthdays and special events (we're not immune to cultural mores), but we decided that we can still object to their existence in a hypocritical sort of way.

Having said that, how fun would it be to attend the grand opening of a new bakeshop or something and see hundreds of these 16" doughnut balloons floating around? They have fancy names like mandarin orange, citrine yellow, diamond clear, and quartz purple too, making them all the more necessary.
